FLL Winter Robotics Workshops
FIRST LEGO League Robotics Workshops for 3rd - 5th Graders
Do you have a 3rd - 5th grader who is interested in robotics? Do you know a Brownie, Girl Scout or Boy Scout in need of STEM badge support? Or is your child ready to develop the skills needed to join and compete with a FIRST LEGO League (FLL) team next season?
If so, join us at the McKinney STEAM Academy for our 5 Week Series of FLL training workshops! Our award winning team of expert high school students and professional mentors will guide students through an introduction to major robot skills, teamwork, and preparations for the possibility of competing on an FLL Team. Students will learn to design, build, and code LEGO Spike Prime robots while tackling challenges from the 2024-2025 FLL Season Submerged game.
Workshops are designed to be experienced as an "appetizer" of the full FLL season by participating in the entire 5-part series.
Workshops will run Friday and Saturday Nights January 24 - Feb 22 6:00 - 8:30pm, perfect for parent's night out! Friday nights SOLD OUT! Register for Saturday nights here!
Parents are invited to drop-off or tour the McKinney STEAM Academy beginning at 5:45pm. Return by 8:15 pm for a debrief where students will share their learnings.
